The Headache Compass
Detection, prevention, treatment
NO MORE HEADACHES
There are 252 official types of headache. The most common ones are tension headaches and migraines. Cluster and medication-induced headaches also massively interfere with the everyday life of many people. Even amongst children and teenagers the number of people affected increases, but still the phenomenon isn’t being taken seriously enough – neither by physicians nor patients. In this guidebook, Dr Dagny Holle, MD, gives an overview of the different types of headache as well as their causes, the correct diagnosis, and what people can do themselves.
DR DAGNY HOLLE, MD, born in 1979, is the head of the West German Headache Centre in Essen, where every year over 6,000 headache patients are treated in the out-patient and day clinic. Dr Holle studied in Germany as well as in the US and Israel, and has been working as a neurologist at the University Hospital in Essen since 2007.
