Capetown and Cape Colony
Where two oceans meet: cultural diversity, incomparable flora and fauna.
Cape Town is far more than a mere seaport, it is a highly popular travel destination which eclipsed Kruger Park long ago as the most popular tourist attraction. The mixture of people from all corners of the earth and the culture with its blend of European and African roots is what gives this metropolis its unique flavour. The surrounding landscape entices the traveller, with the legendary Table Mountain, the rugged Atlantic coast, superb vineyards and stunning nature reserves. And when the whales in the bay at Hermanaus swim up close to the headland, the visitor is filled with amazement.
Photographer Clemens Emmler is a freelance photo-journalist with more than 30 illustrated books, numerous photo-reportages and calendars to his name. He is a member of the renowned Cologne-based photographicagency Laif. Christine B. Philipp is a qualified printing-technician who has been writing travel books since 1985. Publications include the highly acclaimed travel-guide „South Africa”, published by „Reise Know-How”. Terra magica has also published an illustrated book by Emmler and Philipp under the same title.
