Welcome to the land of colours and light

The land between the Dragon Mountain in the north and the Mekong Delta in the south has opened up to tourism. About 2 million visitors come to the country each year – and their number is on the increase. This is hardly surprising, as bustling cities, enchanting landscapes, spectacular, virtually deserted beaches and green rice fields, an ancient culture and modern openmindedness await the visitor. A journey to „South East Asia’s treasurehouse” is an unforgettable experience. Even the names of some of the places are pure poetry: Sea-Cloud Pass, Fragrant Pagoda, Perfumed River and Purple Town.


The author Hanne Egghardt studied in Graz, Austria, and Istanbul; she worked as an editor on various daily papers and magazines as well as being chief-editor of „Wienerin”.
