the Way of St. James, generally known as the Camino de Santiago – almost 800 kilometres from the border between France and Spain to the destination, Santiago. A unique art and nature trail, the pilgrims’ path stretches throughout northernmost Spain, from the Pyrenees all the way to Galicia. The Camino de Santiago is one vast open air museum: chapels and churches stud the hillsides like jewels, monasteries, cathedrals and fortresses boast a veritable treasure trove of art history.
Photographer Björn Göttlicher studied photography and has been living in Spain for many years; he works as an architectural photographer and photo journalist for magazines all over the world.
