The personal portrait of a motorsport genius – illustrated with many pictures from his family's private collection

He was a motorcycle racer, entrepreneur and couturier, but first and foremost he was an outstanding automobile designer. His world-famous Squadra Carlo Abarth won a whole series of race and class prizes up to 1971. Anneliese Abarth, who was the life-partner of this multifaceted talent for many years, now presents an intimate portrait of a driven man, who strove for perfection and beauty in everything he did. The rough edges of his passionate character are the stuff of countless anecdotes and myths, whether from the world's pit-stops, the commercial crime thriller story surrounding FIAT, or the realm of fashion. The legend of Abarth lives on.

Anneliese Abarth, born in 1939, was a fashion model before she met Carlo Abarth in Vienna in the early 1960s. Following her husband's death in 1979, Anneliese Abarth lived in Monte Carlo and Florida, and produced documentary films about the international motorsport scene. Today, she is president of the Carlo Abarth Foundation, and organises regular vintage car events. Read more on www.abarth-online.com
