Fifty years of pop music have given us a panoply of musical styles and compositions. But what is behind the lyrics? Who was Jude in „Hey Jude”, who was „Angie”? What passionate love affair or tale of heartbreak is concealed behind songs like »Jessie« and „Sarah”?The unique quality of so many all-time classic songs lies in their story and their poetic value. This is a collection of contemporary literature: lyrical poetry, whose musical element has long been lingering in our consciousness as „evergreen” or „golden oldie”. To immerse yourself in the poetry of these pop compositons means evoking an intense world of words and images. They deal not only with great and exceptional lives but also with the less spectacular world of the man in the street – his dreams and yearnings, hopes and disappointments.
