LangenMüller
In 1893 Albert Langen founded his publishing house in Paris, later moving to Leipzig, then to Munich. His firm was joined in 1931 by Georg Müller Verlag, which hat itself been estabished in 1903. Today the company publishes in the fields of fiction, biography, contemporary history, politics, music, theatre, travel and health. Authors include Ephraim Kishon, Stefanie Zweig, Alexander Solschenizyn and Barbara Noack.
Herbig
Herbig was founded in 1821 by Friedrich August Herbig to publish the work of authors who were his contemporaries, including Kleist, de la Motte-Fouqué, Schlegel, Schiller and Walter Scott. He hat a strong interest in the sciences, an also published several periodicals. The Herbig family connection ended in 1934, an the firm moved to Munich to join the Langen Müller group in 1967. The Herbig lists include fiction, biography, history and politics. Authors include Ernst Nolte, Elmar Bereuter and Wolfgang Ott.
nymphenburger
Founded in 1946 in Munich and part of the Buchverlage LangenMüller Herbig nymphenburger group since 1974, this firm has a long-standing literary tradition but also publishes biography, language studies and sport. Authors include Christoph Meckel, Molovan Djilas, Anais Nin, Wilhelm Weischedel, Siegfried Obermeier and Herbert Rosendorfer.
