What are we looking for in outer space?

In his weekly column „Odenwald’s Universe” on „FOCUS online”, science editor Michael Odenwald answers readers’ questions on scientific phenomena. He explains the meaning of dark matter and the risks inherent in space debris, discusses time travel and parallel universes, sheds light on the Big Bang theory and extraterrestrials. Here, for the first time ever, his absorbing texts on cosmology have been assembled in book form. They present answers to the cosmic mysteries that have preoccupied mankind since time immemorial.

Michael Odenwald, born in 1949, studied physics and astronomy. After completing a traineeship at the „Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung”, he worked as a freelance tourist guide and journalist. In 1984 he became editor-in-chief of „CAD/CAM-Report”, a specialist computer graphics trade journal, and in 1989 he took on the same role for „Natur” in Munich, Germany’s first eco-journal. In 1995 he joined the science and technology department of „FOCUS” magazine.
