Concise and to the point – indispensable advice for life from the author of the bestseller „The Other Education”.

Clear guidelines provide a framework for getting to grips with life in today's increasingly complex world

What really matters in life is something you often only come to realise in retrospect. Ernst Peter Fischer had a remarkable schoolteacher who gave him and the rest of his class words of advice which equipped them for life. Now, almost 40 years later, Ernst Peter Fischer has come to realise that it was precisely these guidelines that set a course for his life and proved to be invaluable in times of need. They contain everything you need to know as regards the basics that will enable you to navigate your way through life. In a deliberate attempt to stimulate debate, the book invites us to abandon all our current frenetic but ultimately futile activity, placing the emphasis firmly instead on what really matters in life.
