Be smart by watching and listening: the more you learn the better you’ll do.

Everyone has to learn. Throughout life, though the venues change. At school we learn by listening and asking questions. Why should adult life be any different? The context may be more complex and involved, but the principle remains the same.

  • We don’t become any wiser through our own experiences, but through those of others, by watching and listening.
  • A shrewd operator asks questions, and those who ask are always one step ahead of the competition.

Hans-Jürgen Breuer studied political economics at Freiburg University and has a PhD in politics. In 1990 he set up his own company specialising in personnel management and has worked as a consultant ever since. After completing training in psychotherapy, he now also works as a management coach.
