This was due less to the fact that they derived their visionary powers straight from Mount Olympus, but because of the ambiguity of their predictions. What remains to this day is our desire to lift the veil that separates present and future – a hunger as old as mankind itself. The interpretation of the future has become a science – yet time and again, it is individuals that presage tomorrow’s reality.
Oona Horx-Strathern, born in 1963, has worked as a journalist and author
for, amongst others, the Observer and Central Television in London, as well as
for Trendbuero Hamburg, one of the oldest and most renowned trend
research agencies in the German-speaking world. She is currently working as
an author and trend consultant for the „Zukunftsinstitut” (Future News
(Podcast) which she founded with her husband Matthias Horx. Appearing on
