The EURO is as good as the Deutschmark, the turnaround in the labour market has begun, the State’s debts are under control, pensions are secure, the health care reforms are an unmitigated success. All these statements are considered »politically correct«. But are they actually true? Germany, the largest economic power in Europe, in third place worldwide, is in decline, although the economy is booming. Unemployment stands at almost 10%, in the former GDR states one person in five is unemployed, and half the workforce fear the loss of their jobs. The author raises the question: is this really an inevitable consequence of globalisation? In his anthology of economic fairytales he examines and refutes the publicly propagated lies of our time.
