Successful leadership in networks is a highly dynamic task which requires even more tact and intuition than within fixed hierarchic structures of organisations. Convincing very different, independent individuals to work together in order to achieve a common goal while at the same time ensuring that each person can fully express themselves is as much a form of art as it is a skill. When and how do I allow myself to be led by others? What sort of rules apply in this power play? How do I protect my own interests and those of the organisation I am embedded in? The future belongs to this lateral form of leadership.
