The experiences and discoveries of young Darwin on his travels will rock the world to its very foundations. He battles his way through the jungle, cataloguing every beetle he comes across and almost meeting his death on more than one occasion. Furthermore, time and again he is riven by the conflict between his „unholy” scientific insights and his love for his wife. With subtle humour and an irresistible blend of historical facts and gripping narrative, Jürgen Brater recounts the life-story of this controversial philosopher, naturalist and evolutional theorist.
Jürgen Brater, born in 1948 in Norden/East Frisia, doctor, dentist and author, has been teaching biology since 2003. He has written numerous books, amongst
others the „Lexicon for Patients” and „We Are All Neanderthals”. Jürgen Brater lives with his family in Aalen, Baden Wurtemberg. This is his debut novel.
