Gabriel Barylli was born in Vienna in 1957, the son of a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and an opera singer. He trained as an actor at the famed Max Rheinhardt Academy in Vienna and was offered a part at the equally famous Burgtheater even before he completed his training; engagements in Berlin and Salzburg soon followed. Today Barylli is one of the leading directors, actors and authors in the German-speaking world. (»Bread and Butter«, »Honeymoon«, »Wings Grow To Those Who Love« to name but a few titles).
