The valley is beset by a sinister curse.

For centuries peoplehave been vanishing there inexplicably. In the summer of 1932, three friends end up in the small village of Moriac in the South of France. What starts out as a holiday excursion ends in a hopeless impasse: before the eyes of the silent villagers, they find themselves caught up in a lethal web of desire, jealousy and hatred. When the lovely Fee chooses one of the three men, a tragic duel ensues. Will Moriac finally reveal its dark secret this time?

Bente Porr was born in Hamburg in 1947. She studied modern languages in London, amongst other places, and initially worked as an interpreter in French
and English in Paris and Geneva; subsequently she worked in the art trade. „The Mystery of Moriac” is her debut novel. The author has now returned to live
in her native Hamburg.
