Paris, in 1348: A young German monk becomes involved in an ominous murder case. The Dominican friar Ranulf Higden has originally been sent to France to study holy writings. When a fellow-monk is murdered in front of the cathedral of Notre Dame, he has to assist in the investigation of the crime. Soon the monk discovers a network of conspirators - and questions a woman who does not only perplex his senses ... However, he doesn't have much time left investigating. Cay Rademacher was born in Flensburg in 1965, studied history and philosophy in Cologne and Washington. He worked as a free journalist for several years. Since 1999, he has worked for "Geo"; he is the editor-in-chief of "Geo Epoche", a magazine specializing in historical subjects. He has written severel historical novels for nymphenburger; his last one titled "The Secret of the Essenes".
