Burkhard Driest started writing straight after completing his law studies. He wrote the highly-acclaimed novel „The Brutalisation of Franz Blum”, which has been made into a film in which he starred, as well as three detective thrillers featuring Chief Inspector Toni Costa. In addition, he has written numerous short stories, film scripts, two librettos („Andi”, „Falco meets Amadeus”) and a play. After extended spells in the USA and Ireland, Burkhard Driest now lives on Ibiza with his children Johanna and Julian.
