The biography of an impressive personality, steadfast even in times of hardhip. Foreword written by Ralph Giordano.

A life under the banner of resistance. As a student an enthusiastic Nazi, but as early as in 1933 the first germs of doubt are beginning to grow - and Heinrich von Trott zu Solz resolutely turns around to take the opposite course. In France in 1944, after traumatic experience at the eastern front, he makes up his mind to desert. The very same day, his brother Adam pays with his life for having actively participated in the attempt on Hitler's life on July 20, 1944. In his dialogue with the authoress, who belongs to a much later born generation, he now gives a touching account of a life spent under the banner of resistance against social constraints and inner compulsions, a life for truthfulness.
